Greenfield School’s Learning Platform contains a range of web-based communication tools the children can learn to use in a safe and secure way. Children are introduced to concepts like e-mail, forums, uploading files and online social areas. They have their own space and toolset to help them develop and communicate.
All content is secure and monitored by the class teacher and is an excellent way for the children to learn about the important dos and don'ts of online communication in the safety of the classroom.
The children are issued with a username and password and are encouraged to access the Learning Platform from home on a regular basis. In addition they are allocated time each week to use the computer suite to check their pages. Teachers may set online homework for the children to upload and return via email. The‘Safe mail’ system ensures children can communicate in a protected environment, free of unwanted messages and spam.
