Year 6 Face the Dragons

Year 6 have been working in small groups to put together a business model ready to present to our very own dragons! Forget Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones and Touker Suleyman, these three are far more scary!

For most of us, turning up to present an important pitch in your pyjamas would be our worst nightmare, but our Year 6 children took it in their stride today when their Dragons' Den presentations clashed with a charity fundraiser - pyjama day!

In groups of 3, the children had to present their business idea to the Dragons and hope that they impressed them enough with their pitch to be awarded overall winner.

In true Dragons' Den style, some groups chose to pursuade the judges by offering samples of their tasty products and, in one case, plying them with coffee!

Mr Gudgeon said, "Mrs Botting, Mr Sukhdeo and I were blown away by the creativity, innovation, collaboration and confidence the children demonstrated when presenting their business ideas. Choosing an overall winner was a very tough decision"

The children had come up with some brilliant and original ideas, including a 'uber-esque' chef app, a water bottle that keeps you cool and an app that makes your packed lunches for you! All of the children had considered the financial requirements to get their business off the ground as well as resources, employees and the impact on the planet.

The Dragons awarded prizes for the presentations in the following categories:

Most Creative Pitch

Best Vision

Best Presentation

Best Delivery

Most Customer Focused

Best Developed Idea

Best Q&A
