Greenfield School

About

Greenfield is a thriving, forward-thinking, co-educational preparatory school for pupils aged rising 3 to 11 years.

The school occupies a beautiful Victorian house situated near to the centre of Woking, within walking distance of the train station. The building has been empathetically extended to offer spacious accommodation, offering light, modern spaces whilst maintaining the character of the original Victorian building. The Prep school was once based on Constitution Hill and many current Greenfield parents have fond memories of attending the school on its previous site. Greenfield has a rich history with a strong ethos, established by the original Headmistress Ruth Hicks, and this remains at the forefront of the school’s philosophy.

In recent years, the school has benefitted from a new timetable with a very broad curriculum and revised homework schedule. This education enables children to develop creativity and independent thought. Investment in the school’s sport and P.E. department means that pupils take advantage of facilities more akin to a senior school, including a cricket ground, swimming pools, athletics track and multiple 3G pitches.

Whether your child joins us in the Pre-Prep department, the Upper School or at some point in between, they will take advantage of this close-knit community of pupils, parents and staff, which in turn will allow them to achieve and succeed.

A recent inspection by the Independent Schools' Inspectorate (the Independent Schools' equivalent to Ofsted) Greenfield was rated as "Excellent" in all eight inspection areas: Pupils' achievements and learning; Contribution of curricular and extra-curricular provision; Contribution of teaching; Pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development; Pastoral care; Welfare, health and safety; Governance and Leadership and Management.
