Parents' Association

FrOGS - Friends of Greenfield School

FrOGS is the parent association of which all parents become members when their children join the school.  The objectives of FrOGS are to organise various social events throughout the year to enable parents to meet up socially, and to raise funds for “extras” - for example, items purchased in recent years include the new minibus, playground equipment, the digital screen in reception, story sacks, music folders, recording equipment and sports squad jackets.  This additional financial support is invaluable and all the children benefit throughout the school.

The  FrOGS committee members from September 2010 are:

Chair – Alison Maxwell (Jessica in Reception, Sarah in Year 4 and Abigail in Year 6)

Secretary – Nick Diprose (Alex in Year 5)

Treasurer - David Wright (Jonathan in Year 5 & Christopher in Year 4)

To Contact FrOGS
On the main desk in the reception area of the school there is a red box named the “Croak Box” which can be used for any communications for FrOGS. In addition, FrOGS can be emailed via the Secretary, Nick Diprose, on nick.diprose@btinternet.com. He can also be contacted on 07791 861 196.

FrOGS Meetings
Normally FrOGS meet once a term and the meetings are open to all parents.  The meetings are informal and friendly and a useful way for new parents to get involved in the social side of the school.  An important role is also played by class representatives – parents who have volunteered to be a ‘link’ between the parents of their class and the school and most class reps also attend the meetings.

We focus on fundraising, deciding how the funds we have raised should be spent, and social events.   Issues regarding aspects of the school and school policy are not debated at the FrOGS meetings - any issues regarding aspects of school policy should be raised directly with the school or with the Parent Representative who will liaise with the school.

It is hoped that all parents will support FrOGS by attending functions, helping to run specific events and by joining the Greenfield Lucky Draw (which takes place every term). Please come along to the next FrOGS meeting, and in the meantime if you have any questions please contact any of the committee members or your class rep.
