Children were invited to wear as much pink as they liked on Monday 10th February but were not told the reason why. Morning assembly was a sea of pink, from onesies, tutus and pink hair dye to ties, gloves and even a sparkly pink jacket. The children learnt that they would be taking part in Greenfield's very first race for life and there was a sudden buzz of excitement in the air!

On Tuesday 3rd March ALL pupils, from the little ones in Owls to the big Year 6 children (and even some staff!), will be running 1k around the school field to raise money for Cancer Research. The children were told about how their money can help the scientists to work towards treatments and a cure for cancer, and achieve they goal of 3 in 4 people surviving cancer by 2034. 

Most people know someone who has been affected by cancer, and so there are lots of children and staff motivated to raise as much money as possible for this great cause. Children have also been invited to make their own bunting flag to explain why they are running. These will be strung together and used to decorate on the race day to encourage everyone while they run.
