Competitive Quizzing and Superb Singing
Greenfield pupils have been out and about, taking part in various quizzes and competitions.
Greenfield pupils have been busy competing against other schools, testing their mathematical knowledge, scientific skills and muscial mastery.
On Monday 13th November, Katie and Alex (Year 6) and Sam and Joseph (Year 5) represented Greenfield in an inter-school science quiz hosted by Tormead School. They did extremely well and were in the lead for the majority of the quiz. They were narrowly beaten in the last few questions but still finished in a creditable 2nd place.
The team hope that they may qualify as the highest runners up in order to progress through to the next round.
The following day, all Year 5 and 6 pupils took part in the Primary Maths Challenge.
The annual Primary Maths Challenge comprises of 25 multiple-choice questions and looks to challenge pupils' mathematical, thinking and reasoning skills. The 2017 challenge saw 86,000 pupils from over 2400 schools participate. Our Year 5 and 6 pupils did us proud as they achieved some impressive results, particularly Tejas and Siddy from Year 6 and Sam, Louisa and Marco from Year 5, who all achieved the Gold award, with Tejas scoring an incredible 24/25. We look forward to hearing if our Gold award winners are invited to the follow-on-round next term!

Also on Tuesday, the Chamber Choir travelled into town to the HG Wells Suite in order to participate in the Woking Music Festival Choir Competition. The Choirs in each category were asked to sing two songs. Our Choir sang a beautiful rendition of This is my Wish, by Tim and Angela Lauer and All Thing Bright and Beautiful by Rutter.
After watching all the other choirs sing, Greenfield were delighted to be announced as the winners of the U11 category!

Finally, on Thursday 16th November, a group of Year 5 and 6 pupils attended a mathematics quiz at St Johns School in Leatherhead. The two teams thoroughly enjoyed the quiz and Team 1 (Alex, Katie, Zac and Jasmine) finished in a commedable second place.
